We have been working on the ability for users to host their own dedicated servers. The first release of this today will let users run dedicated servers from a linux machine. Future update will add support for windows dedicated servers as well. The dedicated server is free for anyone to run and does not need a beta key. The dedicated server is also less than 20mb to download so it will not take up much room at all. The dedicated server also runs purely console based so no gui is required since most linux hosting is logged into via shell. It was built on debian stable and tested on CentOS and ubuntu so it should run on any linux distribution that is not very old. If you would like to run the linux dedicated server it can be downloaded at:

Just untar the file and read the README file for instructions on how to download the server files, configure a dedicated server, and run a dedicated server. If you have any questions on it please post on the forums here.
